Project Overview

Shumba Engineering Services was appointed to Upgrade Internal Streets Mandela Park Township, improving community accessibility and long-term road durability. The objective was to upgrade gravel roads into structured, low-maintenance paved streets to support safer movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  

Scope of Work

  • Excavation and subgrade preparation
  • Installation of stormwater drainage
  • Layerworks and base compaction
  • Paving installation with interlocking concrete blocks
  • Quality control, site supervision, and municipal compliance

Project Outcome

This project provided over 1.5 km of newly paved roads, benefiting local residents with safer pedestrian and vehicle movement. The drainage system significantly reduced flood risk during heavy rainfall, and the interlock paving improved road longevity and visual appeal.
