Project Overview

Shumba Engineering was contracted to deliver household sanitation units across various communities in the Limpopo Province. The project aimed to improve public health, hygiene, and dignity by providing safe, durable, and toilet systems to underserved households. This initiative aligned with the government’s rural sanitation strategy to eliminate unsafe sanitation facilities.

Scope of Work

  • Supply and installation of household  toilet units
  • Earthworks, excavation, and site preparation
  • Concrete foundation works and superstructure construction
  • Plumbing installation and water connection
  • Quality assurance, site supervision, and programme reporting

Project Outcome

A total of 1013 fully functional sanitation units were delivered across targeted rural and peri-urban areas. Each unit was built with durable materials, proper waste flow design, and in compliance with national sanitation guidelines. The project was completed within schedule and budget, directly supporting the province’s sanitation backlog reduction efforts.
